I do apologize for the missed days here without image posts. I lost my sweet little calico cat, Missy, on the 25th and needed to take some time off.
This image is from my travels during The Vanishing America Project. While rolling down Historic Route 66, I stopped for a rest in the little town of Ludlow, CA. A single main street, lined with a handful of empty crumbling buildings, Ludlow was probably never a thriving community. However, I can imagine that it was just coming into its own when the interstate system diverted traffic from the Mother Road… quickly sealing the fate of Ludlow and eliminating any further growth. The place has a feel of being started, but never finished.
